What is the lifespan of A-EYE CCTV camera?
CCTV cameras are now common in modern society. They serve as security, evidence collectors, and crime deterrents. However, CCTV cameras have a lifespan, identical to any other device. The type, quality, maintenance, and environmental conditions are some of the elements that affect CCTV camera longevity.
The type of the camera which we have is, digital. For example, analogue cameras are not as durable as digital cameras. This is due to the fact that digital cameras have no moving parts that can malfunction and are less vulnerable to wear and tear.
Our cameras are high in quality and they have been manufactured with better materials and components, making them less likely to fail. They also tend to have better warranties and support, which can extend their lifespan even further.
Environmental factors such as temperature, humidity, and exposure to the elements can also impact the lifespan of CCTV cameras. Cameras exposed to extreme temperatures or humidity levels may be more likely to fail. Similarly, cameras exposed to dust, moisture, or other elements may experience damage over time.
Our service includes maintenance and upkeeping as it is a critical factor which influences the lifespan of a camera. Cameras that are well-maintained and regularly cleaned are more likely to last longer than those that are neglected. Routine maintenance may include cleaning the lens, replacing worn components, and checking for damage.
Here are some general guidelines for the average lifespan of different types of cameras which are available with us:
Analog Cameras
Analog cameras typically have a lifespan of around five to seven years. This is because they are more prone to wear and tear and have moving parts that can break down over time.
IP Cameras
IP cameras which are available with us tend to have a longer lifespan of around seven to ten years as they are digital and have no moving parts.
NVR and DVR Systems
NVR and DVR systems typically have a lifespan of around three to five years. This is because they have more components than individual cameras and may be more prone to failure.
It is required to replace your CCTV cameras if their image quality is poor, images are flickered or distorted. And also, the controls and buttons are irresponsive, loud or unusual noises and if there are visible damages to the camera or wiring.
